Zen Rewards browser extension

How the extension works

One icon, three states, one button. Here is what each one means.

The toolbar icon

  • %

    Cashback available

This store pays Zen Rewards cashback and you have not activated it yet. Click the icon or the card and press Activate cashback.

  • ✓

    Activated

You clicked Activate on this store in the last 24 hours. Shop as usual. Your pending cashback appears in your Zen Rewards account once the store reports the order.

  • Standing down (grey)

You reached this store through another website's affiliate link. The extension stays silent for this visit and will not activate. The stand-down policy lists every signal it checks.

  • No badge

This site is not a Zen Rewards partner store. Open the popup to search our stores.

The reminder card

On a partner store, a small card appears in the bottom-right corner with the store name, the cashback rate and an Activate button. It is the same button as in the popup.

  • Activate cashback reloads the page through Zen Rewards, then takes you straight back to the store
  • Not now hides the card on this store for a week
  • Don't show for this store hides it on this store for good
  • The card never appears while the extension is standing down

The popup

  1. Store and rate

Click the Zen icon to see the store you're on, its rate and the Activate button, or a sign-in link if you're signed out.

  2. Your balances

Pending, confirmed and paid cashback from your Zen Rewards account, when you're signed in.

  3. Settings

Switch the reminder card off or on. The badge and popup keep working with the card off.

Questions

Do I have to click Activate every time?
Yes, once per store visit. Stores only pay cashback for orders that start from a tracked click, and that click is the Activate button. After you click, the badge stays a check mark for 24 hours on that store so the card does not keep appearing.
The icon is grey and nothing appears. Why?
You reached the store through another website's affiliate link, so the extension is standing down for this visit and will not activate. Start from Zen Rewards next time, or open the store again directly, and the reminder comes back.
Does the extension apply coupons for me?
No. It shows the store's cashback rate and lets you activate it. Coupons still work at the store's checkout the way they always have.
Does it run on every website?
It checks the address of each page against our partner store list, which is downloaded to your browser. Its script only runs on pages whose domain matches a partner store. It never runs on search engines, your email, or any non-partner site.
I'm signed out. What happens?
The badge still shows cashback is available, but the card and popup ask you to sign in first. An anonymous click earns nobody anything, so sign in once in a normal tab and you are set.
How do I stop the reminder card?
Click "Don't show for this store" on the card, or open the popup, choose Settings and switch the reminder card off. The badge keeps working either way.
What does it collect?
Only what is needed to work: the store list, your per-store activation and "not now" timestamps, and your settings, all stored in your browser. It contacts Zen Rewards when you click Activate and when you open the popup. The full list is in the privacy policy.
